In the new November edition (and layout) of Popular Photography, they hint at a new A700 coming out soon. I'll save you the suspense by quoting below, where PopPhoto were discussing the A700 currently as being a feature packed bargain ....rated 3.5 stars out of 4 in their new "The Guide" section:
"....may be an oldie, but it's still a goodie for its rugged build, fine imaging, and thoughtful design. We strongly suspect Sony will bring out a replacement soon."
Whether this is pure speculation on their part given the age of the camera, or whether they actually know something is unclear.
