January 2010 Date: 11/17/2009 Source: CR Rating: 2.5/5, Votes: 2	CR has received an email stating January 2010 is the date: �Yes, it has been delayed until January now, this is the second time this has happened although this time not due to a technical issues but more marketing. If everything goes to plan (which hardly happens to be honest), January will be a killer month for announcements: 1Ds Mark IV together with the new duo of high end lenses. Possible Eye Witness Account Date: 6/30/2009 Source: POTN Rating: 1/5, Votes: 1	According to a POTN poster (near the bottom of the page on the link below): ok peeps, went to a big filipino event today, had a chance to cover it for a friends newspaper and guess what i saw? YES its coming 24-70L IS was mounted and was already snapping...didnt get a chance to really talk to the guy, just that he confirmed that what he had was a 24-70L IS i was stunned when i saw it it basically looks the same as the current brick, but that it has the IS switch under the AF/MF switch Source: POTN on 6/30/2009. Possibly Confirmed in Poland Date: 3/2/2009 Source: CR Rating: 2/5, Votes: 1	CR is reporting that a price list from Canon in Poland shows a 5D Mark II with 24-70 IS kit, and that when someone tried to confirm with Canon, they stated it was correct. Specifically: He even spoke with Canon representative to be shure that this was not a typo. Canon confirmed that 24-70 IS will be available soon. That's all I know, and I hope you will find it interesting. This information came from two separate emails to CR, it sounds somewhat unlikely (although would be more than welcome), possibly real, possibly a typo somewhere... Source: CR on 3/2/2009. Possibly Not Confirmed in Poland Date: 3/2/2009 Source: CR Rating: 3/5, Votes: 1	From CR again: I was sent an email suggesting what's actually going to be happening. Due August Date: 7/22/2009 Source: CR Rating: 1.5/5, Votes: 4	In light of today's announcement from Canon regarding its new Hybrid Image Stabilization technology, CR has already received a tip about a new 24-70mm due by the end of August, presumably with this new version of IS. Next Week Or Two Date: 2/16/2009 Source: POTN Rating: 2/5, Votes: 4, Comments: 1	According to a POTN forum posting: "I know this has been discussed before about the possibility of a IS version of this lens.. but today I was in a local camera store talking to the salesman about purchasing the Canon 24-70 and we got to talking and he said they are going to release a 24-70 2.8 IS within the next week or two. CR PMA Prediction Date: 2/13/2009 Source: CR Rating: 2/5, Votes: 1	CR has issued a prediction for PMA 2009, based on the rumors that they have received. PMA starts in about 3 weeks at the beginning of March, although a release of something is expected next week on February 17th/18th. According to CR, a new Canon EF 24-70 f2.8L II IS Lens is possible: "Possibly the most sought after lens Canonites are lusting after. Match Nikon's optics and add IS?
